The mission of Franke Plumbing Systems to provide innovative design is fully expressed in the striking looks of its newly-developed Cobra shower, which echo the sinuous forms of the king of reptiles. This elegantly curving stainless-steel shower has been developed for use either in the open air or indoors, and is also ideal for pool-side use or installation as part of a sauna suite. The particle-blasted, burnished surface of V4A stainless steel offers particularly robust protection against wear and tear. Given the highly positive feedback obtained when a design study of the product was first shown at FSB Cologne last year, the decision has been taken to bring forward full-scale series production.

This new upright designer shower from Franke, the Austrian-based specialist in washroom equipment, does not just impress on the strength of unique design considerations alone; the application of the very latest technology ensures that no requirement with regard to convenience or cost-effectiveness is left unmet. The integrated, hydraulically-controlled, self-closing tap mechanism ensure that water only flows when it is actually needed. A light touch on the button is enough to start the flow of water, which stops automatically upon expiry of an adjustable preset period. The piston-free, and thus frictionless, self-closing mechanism guarantees maximum wear and a long service life for the valve mechanism.
The shower is also fitted with a built-in metering controller, which limits the flow of water to twelve litres per minute, and the use of flexible plastic material in the shower head makes it quick and easy to clean whenever furring is detected.
The upright shower can be connected to either a cold-water or premixed warm-water supply. Despite its height of 2.3 metres, the Cobra is extremely simple to install. Floor attachment is by means of a flange and four special screws (M16). The large inspection flap at the back of the stainless-steel upright is designed to allow maintenance access.
